Breaking Down Encoded Archival Description with Alexandra Orchard!

Join NDSA and SAA as Alexandra Orchard of the Reuther Library breaks down Encoded Archival Description (EAD). EAD was created in an effort to standardize digital data between institutions such as museums, archives, universities, etc. Learn about the importance of EAD today, twenty years after its initial creation. Find out about the relevancy of EAD to the archival profession, as well as the digital challenges attached. Bring your questions for Ms. Orchard!



Hathi Trust Tour – November 16, 2017

What makes a repository “trustworthy,” and why is this trustworthiness important? Come along  Thursday, November 16, to Hathi Trust and learn about the institution and how they completed the process to become a trustworthy digital repository as well as received their TRAC recognition. Further, we will be learning about the levels of digital preservation that they strive for in order to preserve their historical data for future generations.
